Entertainment During Pictures

Hello ladies!

I'd love some suggestions of things we can provide to our bridal party to keep them entertained while we're taking our couple and family pictures.  Our photographer said he likes to have around an hour and a half for formal pictures before the wedding, and obviously they will not be in all of them.  We're all taking a van to the photo location, which is a park. I'm thinking of buying some little lawn games and bringing them for them to play with rather than standing around. Any other ideas? Or should they only be focusing on what we're doing? ;)

    Take your couple and family pictures before or after the wedding, not in between.  Minimize the gap between your ceremony and reception by limiting the in between photos to those that include everyone in the wedding party and skip the games.

    If you absolutely can't do couple pictures before the wedding, then do a few during this time, but not so many that you have to worry about your family and wedding party members getting bored while you and your FI pose for photos.

    Our photographer had all the WP and family pics happen first. Then, those people got to go on to the cocktail hour while we stayed for the couples shots.

    By the time the ceremony is over, I know I'd be thinking of food and drink and definitely not lawn games. I think the best idea is to do the WP pictures first and provide them with something to eat while you do your couple pictures. If that's not an option, I like Lia's suggestion of beer and sandwiches. That will keep everyone happy!

    An hour and a half of photos before the wedding? That sounds excessive. Your photographer works for you- tell him it's too long. And I don't think they want to play games- champagne and an air-conditioned place to sit are more like it.

    Is this a first look? I wouldn't play games and would think it was silly if I was in your WP. Make a good list so you're not wasting anyone's time and provide drinks and a place with AC if you're taking pictures outside.
