Wedding Invitations & Paper

All those inserts...

So I am having a winter themed wedding and really love the look of this invitation: http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/product/13003/signature_white_wedding_invitations_snowflake_sentiment.html

However I am wondering about all the little inserts that go inside, such as RSVP/Direction card/basic information (wedding website?). Is it ok to just order the invitation and then create our own insert cards as their insert cards quickly add up? Do you have to have an invite with a pocket to hold it all?

The whole reason why I made my invitations is because I wanted my invitation to match my other inserts.  I saw on the website you posted, they also sell matching insert cards.  Maybe you can just squeeze all of your necessary information on one card.

I had three inserts, but your invitation needs will be different:
RSVP (nothing to mail, it gave instructions to do it over the phone or on our wedding website)
Accommodations (I made arrangements for guests to get a discount at a nearby hotel, so it had all of the necessary information)
Locations (everything was in the same building, so this wasn't necessary, but really, this insert was used to give more information about the ceremony, reception, and available childcare in case someone didn't visit our website)

I didn't want to use a pocket/holder for the inserts, so I made them the same width, tiered them, and tied them together with ribbon at the top.

If you want to order the invitation, but make your own inserts, I think you can make it work.  Just take some element from the invitation, and bring it over to the inserts.  Find paper that is close to that color, or find an image of a snowflake that matches.  If all of your inserts match because you made them, and they have at least one little aspect that is unifying with the invitation, it will look nice.

Over night prints is another option instead of Vista prints.  We used them for our favors, and they were cheap, fast, and good quality.
