Signature Cocktails?

FI and I like the idea of serving a 'Viva Las Vegas' cocktail at our wedding reception - but dont know what to make it out of. We were thinking a vodka base and something bright coloured ie cranberry juice or possibly blue curacao. We would like it to be potent but really easy for our bar tender to make. Any suggestions on cocktails ingredients or other 'Vegas' themed names for the cocktail?

Re: Signature Cocktails?

  • I would say "yes" to Vodka because that's what I'm think of using also ;)
Do you have a theme or what are your wedding colors? That may help with other ingredients and then from there, the name.
I'm looking into the possibility of having a signature drink and since one of our colors is red, and we aren't using much of it, I thought it would be fun to have the drink that color. Waiting to see what WS comes up with. Then I need to decide if I want beer and wine package, or just set a bar limit and allow beer, wine and signature drink.

  • Our wedding colours are hot pink, black and bling. The theme is Las Vegas fabulous. I want the drink to be kinda fruity but not too sweet. I also dont want it to be too 'girly'.

  • I have an idea, but only if a bunch could be made in advance.  I can't remember how the venue thing ended up working out; would the cocktails be something that could be made up beforehand?

VG we are having the reception at Maggianos. I dont know if they can/will pre make cocktails but hey... if the money is right they probably would. What is your idea?

  • I love this idea... but Mon Ami Gabi bar is on consumption... if I spotlight an AllyTini or something, everyone will order one! And at $11-12 a pop, I don't want to give anyone ideas! Hoping everyone sticks to a nice wine, this is a bistro after all! We get to preselect the wines which is good.

I can't find an accurate recipe online as most leave out one of the ingredients but at the Blue Martini restaurant chain they have a drink called a Bellini Martini which is really good.  The way I make it, which tastes pretty close to how they make it, is:

Equal parts peach schnapps, vodka and peach nectar or puree
Two parts champagne or sparkling wine

Really tasty and refreshing drink, and easy to make a big batch of in advance, just not so easy to make one at a time since it involves four ingredients including champagne.  Based on how many people I see ordering them at Blue Martini I assume more than just my wife and I like them lol.

  • So, I tried a few drinks one night for this and now I am addicted to this one "something blue" drink which I am planning to have as my drink. Here is he recipe: 1 1/2 oz. pineapple juice 1 oz Malibu rum 1 oz coconut water 1/2 oz blue curaçao Shake all ingredients in martini shaker with ice and pour over ice. So so so so good.

  • The cranberry would be good, or maybe something with raspberry...
