meet and greet vs. thank you brunch

My parents are willing to host an event for us but I don't know if I should have a meet and greet on Friday evening. My wedding is Saturday evening. Or a Thank you brunch on Sunday. Any thoughts?

Re: meet and greet vs. thank you brunch

  • FI and I are having a meet and greet because the day after the wedding is strictly husband and wife time....

  • I'd definitely do meet & greet.  I know people have thank you brunches/lunches all the time and enjoy them but honestly I would have hated having to deal with that the morning after we got married.  We turned our phones off after wedding and slept in until probably noon (which is easy in Vegas since the curtains actually do block all the light instead typical hotels), woke up, relaxed, called some friends and went to Fremont probably 3pm for 'breakfast'.

  • I think a meet and greet would be better because you will want to relax after the wedding. And your guest might want to relax as well.
  • Ditto on meet & greet.  My sister did a thank you brunch and while it was nice to do a recap..everyone clearly was hung over and just wanted to stay in bed! LOL
  • Thanks for the thoughts. i'm going with the meet and greet.
  • I'll go with the family and say Meet & Greet :)
