Hello all, I would like to know on average how much should a good photographer package cost. I found a guy who's packages start at $1500 but i want to make sure that is not too much or just right. Please help.

This will vary depending on your region (big city=higher costs, small town=lower costs). I would expect to pay between $2000-$3000 for professional wedding photography on average.

$1500, is low for wedding photography, but not bad if they are newer in the industry and they have good work.

$1500 is quite low for a professional photographer who has pro gear, insurance, experience, etc.

it will vary greatly on where you are located and what is included in that package. If you want an engagement photo shoot, the number of hours the photographer will stay at the wedding, will there be a second shooter, etc.?

I live in the bay area. Photographers will run anywhere from $1800 - 6000, depending on the person, and the package.

@napolean2 - It's a low price for a reason. Have you checked out the website? The website is poorly designed and the photos aren't good at all. The photos I take on my iPhone look better!

I am in the DC area. I guess looking at other peoples prices that is a good price.

We have paid $1400 for ours, but are adding 2 hours, so it'll be $1700 all up. That is the low end for photography in NZ, but we have seen their work and we loved it. Average here would be $2500

Oh boy - I hope you did not hire this person that is just starting out. Your wedding memories captured in photos will look like they were taken by a child. Good luck with that.

This is like asking how much should I pay for a car, or a house!!! Too many variables. Location, hours, products included, style, and of course QUALITY of their work!

Find someone who's work you LOVE and also you get along with that person and then hire them.
