dj recommendations?

Hello ladies-

We are on a tight budget and in need of a dj. A guy I knew in college is  a dj and had offered me the great rate of $700 for 5 hours.  I should have booked him right away, but I didn't.  He has since gotten a girlfriend whose birthday is the day of our wedding and he's not sure he can do it.  So I'm back to searching!  I know it seems impossible, but we need to keep it under $1000 and would only need someone for 4 hours.
 We will be on the north shore.

Suggestions?

    We had DJ Ken Drew...he is extremly affordable....right now his website is quoting $850...we had a great time....he has a great website where you can categorize songs as must plays, would like to play, and do not play.   You can also open it up to requests from guests if you want to (we didn't)...he played all my guests requests that  night except the do not plays.  He was the DJ we wanted because we wanted someone to play the music, watch what the crow likes, but not make it all about them or play silly games or have props.

    Thanks - he seems great - I sent an email and then noticed you could check for availability on his website.  He's booked on our day already.  Too bad!

    We used John Cristoferi out of Brockton.  He was $800 for 5 hours.  He was great.  I recommend him.

    We're using John Crisoferi as well for our wedding in April, same rate as bmoruzzi. He's great!

    Sound Choice events out of Natick has an option for like $500 or so. That package  has less customization, but they do a great job.

    I am using Rick from Bellaire Music ... he gets amazing reviews and has won many awards and for 5 1/2 hours I believe he is 850 ... definately under 1000.

    Groove entertainment was great. We hired Joe and he is the owner and his wife Marcia for photos both of them did a excellent job. We were able to negotaite a better deal since we hired both of them. Good luck in your serach they were well worth every penny.
