Guest RSVP's

So, I have decided to do the save the date magnets and not send out invitations.  I will instead have all guest RSVP through my Knot website.  Our website address will be located on the bottom of our save the date magnets.  I was wondering if anyone is using this method, or, something like it...  I just don't want to purchase the invitations and have people throw them away...  It would be like throwing money away, which would kill me...  Please any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks! :)

Re: Guest RSVP's

  • This is not a good idea. Post this in etiquette though and you'll get more responses. This board is for technical issues.

It's gonna be awesome when your Knot website very predictably goes down and people aren't able to RSVP. Have fun with that.

  • It would make more sense to not send STDs and to send invitations instead. People are going to throw STDs away, too, you know.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • This is a bad idea all around.  Skip the save the dates (which people are going to throw away too, btw...don't quite get your logic there).

Your invitations don't need to be expensive. Here: Low Cost Invitations (Click) $18 for 50 on Amazon. Print them yourself. You can go to Michael's with a 40% off Coupon or look in Clearance or go to Wal Mart.

I received an invitation last year where there was no stamp on the reply card, but there was an option to RSVP online.  I felt like she was a bit of a cheapskate for not giving the reply stamp, but whatever, I got over it in like 2 seconds when I did RSVP online. It was fine for the most part, except that she had 6 more guests than she knew she was having because people got confused when they RSVPd and didn't adjust the number appropriately.

They had some no shows so were able to accommodate them, but the guests were not on the escort cards and were not factored into the seating chart so there was awkwardness there.

You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.

  • Is anyone having difficulty with responses not showing up on the website? I received positive responses via email, but my home page under guests still registers O accepted?
