Are there any abbreviations used on here that you don't understand or can't bring yourself to use? For me when talking about my Bridesmaids I can't use the abb. BM. I work in a daycare and we use those two letters all the time, but in a different context. So I just can't bring myself to call my bridesmaids a bm.

I like abbreviations for when I have something long to post, or if I'm going to write the same word over again a few times, just easier, but that's probably me being lazy! I'm good at that

DH- Dear Husband (DS- Dear Son; DD-Dear Daughter)

I'm not a fan of FI, I prefer FH.

Before we were officially engaged I would refer to my FFIL as FFFIL, that confused a lot of people, lol.

I should start inventing really weird abbreviations. Like FILC. Or GBS. And just throw them into thread discussions like everyone knows what they mean.

On my birth/mom boards, GBS= Group Beta Strep and PPD= postpartum depression instead of Pretty Princess Day. Most carry over from forum to forum, but sometimes I have to think before I throw an acronym out there to make sure people will know what the heck I'm talking about.

Thanks for the link to explanations! I was actually telling my Fiance the other day about the silly abbreviations. He was in the Navy so totally understands how things can get confusing. I saw STD the other day and said to my brother how I thought sending STD's to guest was strange. (And I mean the other common meaning.)
