So I officially started the P90X today. I am proud of myself because I can tell that I have gotten stronger just in the past couple of months (while I was doing a bootcamp). I am able to use 10 pound weights now and I remember struggling with 3 or 5 earlier this year.
Does anyone know a good place to buy weights that aren't super expensive? Or are they all going to be about the same price? Any recommendations for a chin up bar? I am afraid of the ones you have to attach to your door. Those seem to break too often! Thanks!
Re: P90X- My first day!
Thread the resistance band through the loop, and close the door. The little ball on the end prevents you from pulling it out of the door...
Good luck!
We don't have a pull up bar either. FI uses a pull down bar on our one machine. I use the resistance bands.

FI and I used the powergym pullup bar, I think you can get it from Walmart or Canadian Tire. It held up with FI's weight alright and hasn't made any marks on the door frame.
If you're buying new weights I would consider getting the ones that are just bars and you add weights to the ends (don't know what they're called, I hope my description makes sense!). That way you can constantly challenge yourself once you gain strength later in the program (or if you go for round 2).
