Forgot to list times for cocktail hr & dinner on invite! Alternative!???

Help! I already ordered my invites and have them all sealed and ready to be mailed in a week and realized I forgot to indicate the cocktail hour start time and what time dinner will be at. We made our own reception and directional cards too and like I said, they are all snug in the envelope waiting to get mailed! I need alternative ideas on where or how to let guests know what time cocktail and dinner are at instead of just word of mouth. Anyone have any ideas!? Thank you!!

  • You don't need to tell your guests what time cocktail hour or dinner starts.  As long as you included information regarding your reception like where it is and that it follows immediately after your ceremony you are fine.

I have never received an invite with the start time for cocktial hour or dinner for what it is worth.  Once I got to the reception venue the staff and DJ pretty much took care to let the guests know what was going on and when.

  • If cocktail hour and dinner are right after your ceremony, then you don't need to do anything. :)

If there is a long break for some reason between your ceremony and your cocktail hour, then I'm not sure if there is anything you could do besides word of mouth, unless you open the invites back up to add inserts. Not sure why you would have a cocktail hour that is not directly after the ceremony, but... that's just me :P.

  • I agree. I have never seen the time listed unless there's a gap. Hopefully, there isn't.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
