Band/DJ in NJ- HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hi there- Need band suggestions for a NJ wedding in July 2014- looking to have a mix of Sinatra to Springsteen to Jason Mraz. Wondering if there are also folks who do band/DJ combos out there. Any suggestions needed to not have to sit thru hours of bad videos. Help :)

  • Soul Revival!!  (I just recommended them to another bride too!)  They were amazing at our wedding and so easy to work with!  I'm not sure if they have a DJ as we just hired the band but they are totally worth checking out.  Their website is: www.soulrevivalband.com

We used Daddy Pop and there were a huge hit at our wedding.  In fact, one of my dad's friends just hired them for their son's wedding b/c they were so impressed.  In addition to the band, there was a DJ who filled in when the band went on breaks, but they didn't talk or get all cheesy like a typical DJ can.

  • D'Amico Entertainment is the best, IMO.  They have a DJ Alive package, which is a mixture of DJing and live performing (mostly singing and a few instruments). It really is the best of both worlds. I've been to a bunch of weddings where D'Amico has been the entertainment and the dance floor was NEVER empty. Chris (D'Amico) has been in the cover scene for a LONG time, so he has the ability to read and play to a crowd.  He's also super easy to work with and very fairly priced. I booked him for my ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

  • We are using Oasis for our band and are so excited! They have been great so far and they arrange a showcase so that you can go hear them play. They play continuously through the event.

Advice that we received was not to use a band who invites you to hear them play at someone else's wedding (if they do that to one bride, they will do it at your wedding too!) and not to hire anyone who just sends you a cd or video and does not offer to play live for you.
