Wedding Woes

So a girl just walked out of work

We have a bit of a nightmare client that forced a long time employee to quit last month. The employee, "E" was ready to move on, but this client definitely expedited things. About a week and a half ago, we hired E's replacement "C." She was a very sweet girl, but obviously a little green. Word around the office is that she was struggling with the work. She really hadn't had the chance to work with the client yet.

This morning, about a half hour before the official start of day, she came in, dropped her key off and walked out. Another employee was in and saw her do it. I feel so bad for the account executive "A" who is now alone on the account again because this new girl couldn't hack it. And it upsets me that C didn't have the decency to quit to her supervisor's face. Apparently, some people think that just because you're new to a job, you can leave without telling anyone.

Good news is that C's exit will expedite the "firing" of the client. So hopefully soon A and who ever replaces C won't need to deal with them any more.

Happy hump day indeed.

They are very condescending and mean. They constantly contradict themselves and then yell at us for not being able to keep up. They expect us to re-invent the wheel with every new project, but get upset if we do anything different. They ignore our recommendations and then get angry when their way didn't work. In short, they are impossible to please and take the liberty to point out that we are not pleasing them on a daily basis.

I was just called into one of the partner's office with the rest of the client's team. They let us know that the client was just resigned. We'll be transitioning for the next two months, but it's done. It's a shame it took losing two employees to get to this point, but I'm glad it happened this quickly following C's walk out. I think her brief employment saved us from losing another good person or two. A was on the verge of tears at the announcement. It was such a relief for her that she was nearly overwhelmed with emotion.
