Invitations!

How much do you recommend to spend on invitations? I am not really finding anything I like under $8.00 per card which adds up quickly. I know letterpress & foil printing is the most expensive, any recommendations?

Re: Invitations!

  • I ordered all of my stationary from wedding paper divas and spent about $10/per recipient total for invites, rspv cards, accommodation cards, escort cards, and thank you cards. Everything is 110 lb paper with digital thermography (raised text) and it's quite gorgeous. We're actually borrowing the design from the stationary for our wedding cake as well. There are definitely cheaper options out there. WPD frequently has sales/coupons - we got ours at 25% off I think.
  • I used Wedding Paper Divas as well  - love my invitation and the price!  We were able to order a bunch of free samples which showed the different designs we like and the weight of the paper.  We only did invitations/rsvp cards (and a few direction cards for those traveling) which kept the cost down. Best of luck!

  • I used minted.com for my invitations. They have lots of cute and unique designs, and were super reasonably priced. My invitations are kind of like a booklet that included all the reception info, acommodations, etc. and I also ordered RSVP cards. I got some sort of 20% discount, which made the price even better. They also offer free samples (which I think can be personalized...?). Definitely check them out!

After getting samples from every possible website I also ordered from Wedding Paper Divas and was very happy with them. There is a lot of variety and they allow you to personalize the fonts, colors, and wording. The also send you a coupon for 20% off when you order fee samples although they always seem to offer some kind of discount and I got 25% off when I ordered. I spent $425 for 150 invites, RSVP cards and 60 accommodation cards.
  • I DIY stationary with digital templates I purchased off Etsy and used the free wedding stationary from WeddingChicks.com http://www.weddingchicks.com/freebies/
  • Ouch. I had my invitations designed by a professional, and printed at a local print shop. For around 200 invitations including response cards, and hotel/other cards, I spent $136. These weren't raised printing or anything, but they are still elegant. I've received tons of compliments on them, and they fit us as a couple perfectly. Add in envelopes that I bought separately, and it was closer to $200. So that's $200 for ~200 invitations for ~300 people. I'm not saying everyone can necessarily go THAT cheap depending on taste, but I can't fathom paying $8/invite for that many people. Shop around!
  • Whatever you do, I had a horrible experience with crosstown press in cranston, ri so I would tell you to avoid them.
