  Yeah, good thought on staying away from the glitter. Really anything you toss can be a nightmare (especially because most venues make you responsible for clean up).
  
  Bubbles could be an option ( though I'm personally not a fan). If your exit is outside, I've seen ribbon wands look cute.
  
  Don't stress yourself over finding something to do or incorporate your saying for the exit though.

  Honestly, I wouldn't do anything.  Save the money and put it into your reception or towards your honeymoon fund.
  
  Glitter - can get in someone's eyes which would be painful.

  Another point is that glitter is usually associated with going to the gentleman's club in our area. And sometimes it doesn't wash off well. You don't want to walk around looking like you just had a "good time" at the club...so GREAT idea skipping the glitter.

  I second the pp with the ribbon wands if you really want that "fairytale" look.

  Thanks for the ideas!  Both my fiance and I are big Disney people so we're including little things throughout the day.  Maybe that could be more of a favor idea.

  Pixie dust and/or ribbon wands aren't favors...unless your guests are under twelve.

  If you're going to do favors, why not have chocolates made in the shape of castles or other Disney things?

  @AddieL73, I would probably take my pixie dust favor to work and bestow the joys of glitter on my clients and coworkers. Though it may make them look like they just left the strip club...

  You will need to check with your ceremony vebue 1st and find out if there are any restrictions on throwing anything after the ceremony.  Most places in my area forbid the use of rice, birdseed, glitters, flower petals, etc. . . so basically they don't allow you to throw anything.  Some places even forbid the use of bubbles.

  I saw on a website a couple used silver confetti, that might be an option as well.

  I believe I've seen colorful, biodegradable confetti (can't remember where though).  That might be an option depending on the rules the venue has regarding throwing things.

  Agreed. I think a great alternative could be bubbles!

  Have you thought of sparklers? I know that's more a reception thing, and may not be allowed depending on your area. But if you don't mind some singed fingers and small melted bits of your dress, this could be an option =P
