I'm glad you liked it. Many of your guests just looked very confused.
  • I hate most YouTube videos, so I'll pass. Now, if you were hanging out with us and getting to know us a little and shared, I might care.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Did anyone else notice that some guests actually left with the kids that were singing?

Or were these 'fake' guests that were the parents of the kids brought in to pull off these show?

  • Maybe I'm bias because GOD DAMMIT I HATE FLASH MOBS, but I found this odd.  Also, it didn't seem like a 'flash mob.'  It seemed like you paid 15 little kids to randomly stand up and sing during the middle of your wedding.  Then awkwardly leave. But if you and your guests enjoyed it, I suppose that's all that matters. Congrats on your wedding.

  • I liked it.
  • That's the initial point is to take them by surprise!!!  All our wedding guests couldn't stop talking about it during the reception & afterwards. :)

I'm glad they enjoyed it! Not my taste, but again, I guess it's a case of knowing your crowd. Congrats again.
  • To the person who wrote this:  "You could have at least tried to make it sound like you weren't just going for hits." ~ It came as a complete surprise to me that it went up on youtube.  I wasn't the one who posted the video.  The vocal group that did this at no cost to me posted it.  I'm so proud of each of the students on there.  It's great recognition for them for the months of rehearsals they put it. I did this for the love of my husband.  My whole theme for our wedding was 'Vintage Love'.  In fact the students surprised us outside by singing the Beatles song:  Love, Love, Love after our recessional.  I've grown up listening to the oldies with my parents & this happened to be one of my favourite songs.  So it seemed quite appropriate to have the students sing it.  Plus it fit in with our vintage love theme ~ <3

These were the parents of the students.  The teachers thought it might be a bit strange to have children come into the ceremony on their own without adults.  They thought that our guests may catch on. :)

These children were not paid.  This was something they did out of the goodness of their hearts.  They regularly do public singing events but this was their first 'flashmob'.  The vocal teachers took charge of planning it out over the course of 5-6 months.  And thanks for the congratulations :)  ...it was THE MOST WONDERFUL DAY!!!  I married the love of my life surrounded by friends & family.  Couldn't ask for anything more. <3
  • I'm sorry that some people didn't enjoy the students singing.  To me it brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it.
  • I thought it was awkward, especially in a church after you just had the emotional moment of walking down the aisle but I'm glad you enjoyed it. That's all that matters.

You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.
  • I honestly don't understand what was wrong with what I wrote.  I'm very proud of the popularity the video is getting for those students who worked so hard.  If I could, I would never have put this on here if I knew it was going to get such negativity.  I would never make negative comments on someone else's wedding day.  As long each bride & groom enjoyed their day then that's all that matters regardless if someone wasn't particularly keen on something the couple chose to do.
  • The way it was posted looked like you were spamming the board, especially when it's one of your first acts of participation in the community.

When you post something on a public forum, you're starting a discussion and you're going to get feedback positive or negative. If you are sensitive about getting negative feedback, post it here: www.weddingwire.com  they will all tell you it's amazing and you'll feel very good about it.

  • I was just sharing something that me feel happy.  That's it, that's all.  Nothing to do with spamming.  I guess live & learn. Love your muppets though...I've always been a big fan of them! :)
  • I understand. The way you posted it, it just didn't look like that. To put it into perspective, we get  a lot of spam on here.

    Thanks, me too =)

Are flash mobs and the Beatles "vintage?"

ETA: OP, you also need to realize that the first thing posters see when they look at this thread is that you DDed. Not a good start.
