Wedding Invitations & Paper

invitation wording advice please!

We are having a very casual non formal small just family and close friends wedding and I am having a hard time coming up with wording for the invitations.

it will be just the ceremony and dinner and dessert to follow

I want it to be a fun invite as well.

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Re: invitation wording advice please!

  • the wedding is at 430 pm....my fiancé and I are hosting. our wedding is at a park by the lake and the dinner is in a shelter in the park.

I am going to do my own invitations with a photo.

  • I'd use traditional wording and save the "fun" for graphics, fonts, and other elements of the invitation.
  • "Casual" and "non-formal" are oxymorons. Your wedding cannot be both.

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'

I'm confused...casual and non-formal DO mean the same thing.  Casual and formal would be opposites.

Your wedding plans sound perfectly lovely!  I am giving you the basic traditional wording here.  If you use it, everyone will understand what is expected.

The pleasure of your company is requested
    at the marriage of
    Bride's Full Name
    and
    Groom's Full Name
    Date
    half after four o'clock
    Park by the Lake
    Address
    City, State

    Reception immediately to follow.

    Sounds great to me!
