Allure dress 2455....what to wear under it?

I recently purchased this dress & it is THE ONE! I am trying to go as minimal as possible with under garments. I want to wear my one pair of spanx that I have but they go all the way up to under the bust line it goes yup a little too high for the keyhole back. I also need a bra to wear. I have heard of the ones that go half way around you & stick to you. I need to wear something underneath to keep the dress from sticking to me if I get hot.  Has anyone altered their dress or added nude color mesh to the bottom of the back to make sure nothing shows?

What can I wear under this dress?! HELP!

  • I think the sticky bras are one of the biggest lies ever. I've never had a good experience. Talk to a seamstress about getting cups sewn into the dress - that way you can comfortably go backless.

As for getting hot, I think some people around here have had success with baby powder or deoderant on the thighs.

  • I had cups sewn into the dress so I didnt have to worry about a bra. I also wore spanx but mine didnt go up to the bust line. I didn't have a problem with the dress being too hot but I've heard of the baby powder, deodorant tip before.

  • I don't have any advice, seeing as these ladies pretty much covered it, I just wanted to say that dress is beautiful, I love lace and especially love the button up back. I went with a corset back I'm too busty to wear anything backless, even with cups sewn in. In all honesty I am pretty jealous of your dress.
  • Have cups sewn into the dress and then go and buy yourself a pair of spanx that only come up to your waist and down to right above your knee.

    Try these...http://www.spanx.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2990123&cp=2992553.3010055&view=all&parentPage=family

Also with the shorts style spanx you won't have to worry about sticky thighs from getting a little hot under the dress.

  • I work in a bridal salon and we sell several gowns similar to this (but not this one...it's beautiful!)

    1) Cups ARE NOT THE ANSWER for this dress.  If any of the girls who said cups had actually looked at your dress they would have seen that. Cups only work when there is something to pull them toward the body.  Your gown is backless therefor that can't happen.

    2) If you are over a B cup, head out to your local specialty skivvie shop and look for an actual backless bra.  They hook around your waist.

    3) If you are under a B cup then you can consider going braless and just wear something to cover, like low-beams or petals so you don't start pointing at things.  You may lose some of your cleavage that way, but you sure will be comfy ;)

    Hope this was helpful!
  • I have this same dress!  I am a B cup and bought a silicon sticky bra and practiced wearing it a couple hot days while I was out running errands and it worked fine.  My seamstress agreed sewn in cups wouldn't be my best bet.  I hadn't thought about the bottom half yet...
  • I have an Allure dress also, not this one though! But it is the same at the back. My seamstress in the store is working with me to ensure I don't need to wear a dress on the day. She said Allure dresses are pretty good to work with, especially around the bust area. I'm having my next fitting next week, where she will have sewn in around the bust area, I can update on the result of it.
