Those of you coming in the next few weeks should be aware of the wild fire burning on the Spring Mountain range, west/northwest of the strip but mostly on the opposite side of the valley. It's not expected to be under control until 7/19 and is the second highest priority fire in the US right now. There's lots of smoke covering the west/NW side of town and some ash dropping into that part of town. Occasionally you can smell it too (at least by me).
We've had daily air quality warnings since it started, recommending those with respiratory issues stay inside. If you have guests with related issues you may want to let them know. My dad is currently stuck at home because of it; can't breathe at all if he opens the door.
