How to check if couple is bringing their kids?

I'm just looking for a tactful way of asking my cousin if she and her husband are bring their two daughters to our wedding.  She sent back the rsvp promptly, but just wrote her and her husband's name, and put an X instead of a number.  The only reason I suspect they may not bring the kids is because her sister rsvped for just 2, so she is not bringing her kids, and my two cousins are close.  I did invite the whole family on the invite, fyi.

  • I would just call her and say that you're confirming who's coming to the wedding as you were unclear so wanted to know if it was just the Mr. & Mrs. or Susy and Sally too.   That's not rude, it's double checking.

It was great of you to invite the whole family, but don't be surprised if only Mr. & Mrs. come - many people few weddings as a 'date night' and leave the kids at home so they can have free reign to party with their guests without being on parent duty.
  • Great, thanks!  And sorry that this discussion posted twice!
  • I'd call and ask.  Just say that you need a head count, so you need to know which household members are coming.
