Guests Add People to RSVP

Hi ladies!

So when we sent our invites, on the RSVP we did "__ out of __ people will attend" and we filled out the second blank (i.e. "__ out of 2 people will attend). We did this because we are very limited on space and also we wanted an adult only reception. Someone RSVPd and crossed out the 2 and put 4 and added their children!!! The part that makes this even stickier is that the guy works with my dad! What should we do? The only children that will be there are the flower girls and ring bearer. Let me know! Thanks! :)

Re: Guests Add People to RSVP

  • You call them, apologize for the confusion and say the invitation was only for John and Jane and that you hope they can still make it.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Call them, apologize for their confusion, and explain that the invitation was only to Jack and Jill.  Then ask if they'll still be attending.

Don't make excuses or explain why you didn't invite the extra guests.  Every reason you can give will come up with a "solution" for why you should make an exception.  Just leave it that the kids aren't invited.

For the one who works with your dad, I would first see if your dad would make the call.  If he won't, it's on you.
  • Awesome, thank you so much ladies! My dad made the call and all is good! If this happens with anyone else your advice really helps! :)
