Weather related - What is 'hot' 'cold' 'perfect' to you?

Seeing people's various destinations, and curiosity about what the weather is like there, I'm always interested into see how people perceive the weather.  So...what temperature do you consider "hot", "cold", or "perfect"?

Re: Weather related - What is 'hot' 'cold' 'perfect' to you?

  • I live in Phoenix, so anything below 80 is chilly. I'd say 90 in Phoenix is about perfect. Too hot is anything over 110, but over 100 in the monsoon season.

  • depends on where i'm going and what i'm doing and what season it is.

  • Anything ove 95 is hot for me I'm on the east coast. I hate the cold so anything below 70 is too cold for me.

  • It depends on the type of vacation. If I'm in a place like London, Paris, etc where you are doing a lot of walking-perfect would be 65-75. Above 80 it gets too friggin hot wandering around. Below 60 I'm cold.

But if I'm going to the beach, it needs to be above 80. Above 95 I would be miserable. Below 75 and I'm bundling up.

  • Depends on what I'm doing!  For a beach, anything under 85 is a bit chilly for me, and over 95 is hot.  For touring a city, or hiking, or something like that, under 70 is chilly and over about 80 or 85 is hot.  It was in the low to mid 80s when we went on our honeymoon to Aruba, and I was chilly out on the beach in my swimsuit some of the time (and the water was pretty much too cold for me to go into for more than a few minutes at a time).
  • When I'm taking a land based vacation (no beach), I like the temp in the 70s, however as long as it's not raining, I can deal with 50s-80s just fine.  Beach vacations I like 80s.

Humidity is a big factor too.  My car said is was 82 last week here in NJ, yet with the humidity was so disgusting and uncomfortable.  The past week or so has been too hot/humid here for my liking.  The AC can't keep up.
  • I agree with JoanE2012.  Humidity can make a nice 80 degree day feel like crap.  Like yesterday it was about 80 degrees after work but the moment you stepped outside it was like stepping into a sauna with thick, wet air.  I also live on the east coast in MD so I get the joy of dealing with humidity and hot weather all summer long.

For me anything between 68 and 85 are temps I can enjoy.  When I go to the beach I like upper 70's because you can lay out all day and never feel over heated.

  • I am kind of in line with most of the people on here. I like it to be in the 70's on a regular vacation and high 80's on a beach vacation. I don't like it too hot because of walking and all of that but if it is colder then 70's I tend to get cold if I stay still for more than a couple minutes.

When we went to Paris and London last June it was in the high 50's low 60's the whole time. Too cold. Plus rain. Not nice weather.

This!  I'm eating outside for lunch today because it's ONLY going to be 101.  So much more bearable than the 115+ days we had most of June.

But yeah, I get cold if it's lower than 70 outside.  Good walking around weather is mid 80's.  Warm is 90's.  Hot is 110+.  Hell is 122 like it was a few weeks ago.
  • I grew up in upstate New York, now living in a little bit of a warmer climate.  Not so fond of it.  I kind of detest the summer.  I'd prefer in the 60s or below for a vacation.
