my wedding is september 21st and they scheduled my first fitting at the beginning of may...and my second one was mid-june...guess they were expecting to get busy later on?
My wedding is in August and my first fitting was in March! They said they just wanted to make sure they ordered the correct size and at least they could get started on shortening it and creating the bustle. They also wanted to start taking it in then. I told them I was in the process of losing weight (I'm sure they hear that a lot), but they wanted to do it anyway. My next fitting was in June and, sure enough, not only did she have to take it in quite a bit more, but since I was smaller, the dress "dropped" and she had to shorten it again. She didn't seem to mind having to redo some of her work. It may have actually been easier for her this way. I just kept saying, "You're the expert; I trust you!"
So, to answer your question, no, it's not too soon.
Re: First fitting
No?? It's just a first fitting...
Was your dress in need of a lot of alterations?
