  The board I want unhidden is wedding woes. I've deliberately hidden many other boards so my main wedding boards page only shows the categories I'm interested in. Hopefully you can just fix the one board without unhiding all of them. Thanks!

  To hide a board, you hover your mouse over the area to the left of the Discussions and Replies counters on a board list.  A little invisible gear will show up and if clicked on, you can choose Mark Read or Hide.  Once you click Hide, you'll no longer see that board in the particular category you're in.

  Ven&Radio, I don't know the proper way to un-hide a board on this site because the software the knot forums run on, DotNetNuke Social (recently renamed Evoq Social), have the normal control panel users would have access to dramatically scaled back so a lot of things that software would normally display have been removed.
  
  However, I can tell you an ugly roundabout way to unhide that Wedding Woes board specifically.  It requires knowledge of the board ID number, which in this case is 85.  So here's your steps:
  
  

  1. Go to the normal knot forum category list at http://forums.theknot.com/categories
  2. You need to view the source of the page to get some information.  So if you're in FireFox or Internet Explorer, just right click on the page and select "view source" or type Ctrl-U on your keyboard.  If you're in Chrome, it should be right click and then "view page source"  If you're in Safari on a Mac it's truly obnoxious; Go to Safari menu, then Preferences, then Advanced, check the option to "Show Develop menu in menu bar", close, go to the new menu and click show page source.
  3. Okay now that you have the page source displayed, type Ctrl-F to do a search, and search for this specifically:   ;tkey=
  4. The first match you see should be something along the lines of markread?categoryid=###&tkey=CODE">Mark Read.
  5. The important part of what you want is the 12-character value in the CODE field above.
  6. Now that you've gone through all that work, replace CODE in the below URL with your actual tkey code and throw it into your browser; the board will now be unhidden:

  You can of course use the same technique to unhide any other board, you just have to know the specific board ID number and your unique code the forum assigns to you.
