Castle Manor Inn wedding?

Hi All - have any of you had any experience with the Castle Manor Inn in Gloucester?  it has everything I'm looking for in a venue, but I can't find any reviews or commentary on events held there.  I know this is only their second summer, but I'm hoping someone here has heard something!
thanks!

Re: Castle Manor Inn wedding?

  • I went and checked out Castle Manor. Rooms seem nice, outdoor area is nice too, but not in the best area of Gloucester. The deck overlooks the marsh, not ocean. If the tide is down during your wedding its not the prettiest of views! The woman that owns it was really nice and accommodating on our visit though. We chose another spot in Gloucester instead so that's all I can tell you unfortunately!
  • Hey there-

Quick question, where are you having your rehearsal dinner?  I'm getting married in Gloucester and having a hard time finding a place to accommodate 60 people for the dinner.  Thanks so much!
  • Do green flies occur at the marsh? I know Cape Ann sometimes gets them and they're annoying!
  • we decided to go for it.  we love the way we feel when we're there, so we're following our gut.  I'll be sure and make a full report after our June wedding!

  • Hi @Justine2014 I am from the area (newly returned) and am also looking at the Castle Manor in for fall of 2015...going back tonight with my Mother for her to check it out. I'd love to keep in touch and hear about your experiences! Congrats and good luck with everything :)
  • I will definitely give you feedback, mkgbts83!  so far, so good, though!
  • have not been there for a wedding but i have visited and really like it! sorry i can't be of more help, good luck :)

Hi there I actually got married there in October of 2013 and it was the best experience. I thought I put a review on here but I can't seem to find it. It is a beautiful spot even though it does look over the marsh you have to see it for yourself because it actually is still a beautiful view. Our sweetheart table was in the gazeebo and it was great because people came out to us to visit and in the gazeebo there is a bench so people can sit and see the view while visiting with you and your groom. Laura and Don are the owners and they take you under their wing as family and treat you like family from day 1. I like to say that I truly felt like a David Trutera bride on our day because she took our decor and made it far more beautiful than I could have imagined! There prices are very reaosnable and the food is unbelievable! I am not getting paid to say any of this. My guests still talk about the wedding to this day. My sister and her family rented the family suite for the wknd and I stayed in the bridal suite the night before and we stayed the night of the wedding the staff is so kind and if they don't know something they will find the answer and get back to you or Laura will contact directly! Laura and her staff de stressed me so many times. I probably called daily and emailed and they were always kind. You can bring your decor up to a week or two before the wedding so you're not rushed! Oh I hope you choose the Castle Manor Inn! You will not be disappointed!
    Happy Wedding!!!!

  • I have not been, but generally hear it is nice with the exception that due to the marsh, on low tide it gets you know that low tide smell.  But, the good news is you can look up the tide in advance!
