Quick RSVP card questions

We are having a buffet dinner so I don't have meal choices listed.  The RSVP card looks kind of empy with just accepts/declines etc.
Do I need to include dietary restrictions?  how do I word that?
I am a vegetarian so there will definitely be veggie options, just not sure if I need to ask the dietary restriction question or if it is going to invite more complications (gluten issues, carb issues...)

Also, we are having an optional online RSVP for my younger generation friends...should I mention this on the RSVP card or just leave it on the small business card we are including about our website (it says" please see our website for optional RSVP, accomondations, etc".)

Otherwise, I am worried the RSVP card looks kind of empty!

Thanks!

Re: Quick RSVP card questions

  • I think it's fine to leave it that way, but it might not be bad to have the website option there. I'm not sending RSVP cards at all and I think I'm the only one :-/

  • We are having a buffet too but a different buffet for the kids. We just also put lines for number of kids and number of adults that way it is in black and white the final numbers for each

  • Yeah, you can confirm guest numbers. I'd leave a blank and say, "We're reserving __ seats for you" and then on the next line put something like "__ attending" and if you need to differentiate kids from parents or something, that could go in there? It'll help fill it out and it'll keep from phone calls if Uncle John Doe is like, "Well, I can come, but your aunt can't, so it's just me, blah blah blah."

And yeah, you can definitely put the online RSVP info on there, too.

Hope I didn't suggest too much and you still have space! ;)

  • We are doing a Buffett too, so our car is the same way. It just says please RSVP by, who the people are, accepts, and declines. I spread the wording out more so it takes up more room.

  • I would not do dietary restrictions, then you are opening up a can of worms like.  If you are having a buffet I imagine there will be several options, and people who are vegetarians/have serious allergies know to write something or contact you.  Too many special requests and you are going to not be able to accomodate everyone's diet of choice and your caterer can charge extra.

I have the opposite problem, my RSVP looks very crowded (we also have an online RSVP option and a meal choice.  Ours looks like this:

    kindly respond before september 20

I struggled with the wording for the on line response option, but that's the best I was able to come up with.  I think that won't look too blank on the card.
  • We're putting some blank lines under the attending / not attending counts so they can write whatever they want. When I've fill them out for others, I'll put my name and FI's name, plus a quick note of congratulations.
