Disguising parking blocks?

I've picked a venue for my ceremony/reception that's an old estate with two buildings (a large home and then a stable/carriage house), but between the paved area between the buildings they've turned part of it into a parking area for the employees and even equipped it with a handicap sign and parking blocks... some of it can be disguised with strategic table placement and small backdrops, but there are a few blocks that are a bit out of place, has anyone tried to disguise something like this? Or played them up? Any suggestions? Thank you!! Hailey

Re: Disguising parking blocks?

  • I wouldn't try doing anything to it. It's a parking lot. People won't be focused on the fact that it's a parking lot if they are properly hosted and enjoying your wedding celebration. Plus, it could actually draw more attention to it by trying to cover it up. Hope that helps!
  • I agree - generally when people try to "disguise" something, they end up drawing more attention to the awkward disguise.

I'd focus my time and money on the things I DO want people to notice - table settings, centerpieces, good food and drink, etc.

  • No one will notice or care about the parking blocks.  Don't try and disguise them because like the other posters have said the more you try to disguise something the more it will draw people's eyes.

  • Thanks ladies. They hadn't really bothered me in the past, but after stopping by today I just became really fixated on them. I think I just needed to hear someone else tell me to leave them alone!
