Candy is Dandy...but what does it cost?

I noticed some sites will do a candy bar for you (which presumably means you CAN'T do it yourself).  I do not think mine has the option, but I'm a sweets-lover and would love to have one. We are doing a Champagne Brunch...3 passed hors dourves in 11-12 time, meal at 12-1, then dancing etc till 3...imagine having the candy out at 2 or so....

 

 If you did a candy bar, do you mind sharing what it cost?  It is def on a "wait list" until all the rest is covered and we see where we are with $$$.  Working numbers in the 75-100ppl range.

    I decided against a candy bar but it can be done pretty cheap. Depending on when your wedding is, I would start stocking up on different candies after big holidays like Halloween and Easter. The candy will be heavily discounted, and this way you dont have to buy it in one big bulk. One the classified page on TK, you can find tons of brides looking to sell/ give away different size and shaped jars. So the only other thig you could buy are little bags for people to take the candy home with them. Depending on how many candies you want to display, I think you can do this for $100 or so dollars.

    I'm actually the week after Easter...that hadn't even occurred to me until you mentioned it.  I do LOVE my Jelly Bellys (though they do less holiday specific stuff so fewer things on the 50% off table).  Thanks for the input and for the holiday hint.

     

    Confession:  When candy/cookies/sweets are marked 50% off, I always "cleverly" ask if that applies to the calorie count too.  I'm such a riot :P

    Www.candywarehouse.com has suggestions for volumes of candy to order (per person) and also has bulk hard-to-find candy for your candy buffet. Overall price will depend on the volume and types of candy you decide upon....though waiting for Easter candy to be discounted might be a great idea if you feel comfortable waiting until last minute.
