Scary Moment- Invitations Out

It was a bit scary, but just put 160 invitations in the mail.  They are out and ready to go, but definitely scary.  Addresses have been triple checked so can't do anything more.

  • Wow, you are way ahead of me! We won't get our invitations til sometime this week. I plan on sending out at the two month mark.
  • We couldn't wait for the 2 month mark because it takes a full week to get mail from East Coast to West Coast, so that 2 weeks for those invitations, and we have a few international invitations.  The invitations are acting as reminders to our friends and family to book their travel arrangements too.

I'm sending mine tomorrow and I am terrified! 80% of our guests are out of town so we wanted to give lots of time to respond and make plans, etc.

    Eek!
  • I'm planning on sending ours out on Friday. It's early and there is no real reason why we are sending them out early, but whatever. It's just over 2.5 months

  • Also, did you just put them in a mailbox, or did you go to the post office and hand them the box of stamped invites? We don't have any bows or anything and don't need them to be hand canceled (and I don't think you did either.) Just curious.

  • I took ours to the actual post office.  The lady there said she would hand stamp them that way they don't get all smudged and messed up through the machine.  I didn't need mine to be done by hand, but the post office lady was pretty nice.  I also had to get international postage, which wasn't too pricey, so that was a relief.
  • I am trying my best to get mine out by August 1st FMIL & FI are dragging on getting me addresses for their family (mailed invitations seem to be an uncommon thing in their family - his cousin emailed out their invites). I already know FI/FMIL are going to have to call all the older people in their family for RSVP's...I'm trying to figure out if its a cultural thing or just his family.
