Venue Help Request!

Hi All,

I think I have looked through all the postings on this blog, and at every venue on the web but I am still having a hard time finding something I can afford and love! I am hoping that will everyone's experience they can find something to fit my vision! I am looking for a "unique" venue. I don't want something really out there but examples of places I love (but can't afford) are The Crane Estate, French's Point, and The Cranwell Resort. I am looking to have 125 guests for an indoor reception and I am willing to spend a max of $15,000 on food, alcohol and venue (all taxes and fees included). I would like something that is elegant, not too resorty and has places to stay near by. Anywhere in ME, VT, NH and central to northern MA are ok. Please help a future bride out!! Thank you!

Re: Venue Help Request!

  • There's a bunch of nice inns in Wilmington and Dover, VT. Check out the chamber of commerce site, visitvermont.com. I found that really helpful with my first wedding and I live near here. The White House, in particular, is gorgeous and elegant. Plus they have a small spa so you can get a backrub beforehand to help you relax. http://www.whitehouseinn.com/weddings_groups.html

    Hope that helps! Good luck!

  • We are going with the Sleepy Hollow Inn. It is beautiful and reasonable!
  • Try Pigeon Hill Farm in East Berkshire, VT.  They can come in well under that budget if you want.
  • We got married at the Williams River House in Chester,VT. It was gorgeous property and 46 acres with a B&B. They told us they can do weddings up to 200 tented outside. Ours was small but it was a gorgeous place and the staff was awesome. Not sure what they would charge though.
  • Thank you everyone for your great suggestions!

  • Check out the Stowehof Inn in Stowe.  It's extremely unique, affordable, and their wedding planner is fantastic!  Best of luck!
  • Im in southern vermont so for me to travel like 20 miles west to ny state isnt far.  Not sure where exactly you are located but the place I found is 25 minutes or so from bennington vt.
http://www.sterupsquare.com//ballroom/ballroom.html Its beautiful and the price per person I was quoted was $49 which includes linens, tables, chairs, facility use, bartender, ceremony and reception and sit down meal.
  • spring02 I would ;love any info you might have regarding Pigeon Hill Farm. We have been looking into them and would love to hear of peoples experiences
  • I'd second Stowehof.  I'm getting married there in October, and I think you could make it work with that budget depending on the food and wine you select.  The venue is unique, they make it very easy for brides helping you coordinate all the details, and the view cant be beat (in my opinion).
  • The White house is not cheap and can not fit 125 inside so it would have to be tented. The West Mountain Inn in Beautiful and has a wonderful 100 year old barn they use for wedding receptions.
