room blocks for PARK SAVOY Hanover marriott or Westin governor Morris?

Hi I wanted to book the marriott because you can reserve a conference room for an after party but the woman has never returned my phone calls! after emailing and calling 3 times!!

Re: room blocks for PARK SAVOY Hanover marriott or Westin governor Morris?

  • I have rooms blocked at the Westin and our reception is at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park. They have been easy to work with and are including transportation.
  • We had an afternoon wedding at the Park Savoy in April and had our guests stay at the Hyatt Morristown. We wanted a cool spot that allowed for a big after party (which we had, from 6 PM till after midnight!) My husband and I only made it to about 9:30 LOL. Also since we had a lot of guests coming in Friday night, we didn't want them to be "trapped" at the hotel. The Hyatt is within walking distance of a lot of Morristown restaurants which some of our guests did take advantage of. They took really good care of us...snacks, champagne, beer in our room each night, plus our parents' rooms.

The Westin is a beautiful hotel but we didn't look at it because the fancy restaurant/bar area didn't seem like a good option for a potential after party. Plus it's pricy.

We looked at Hamilton Park and the Marriott as well. The Marriott was nice, but we weren't crazy about the area that it's in (lots of power lines) and the Irish pub was too enclosed feeling for us.

    Good luck!

  • I second the Hyatt in Morristown. We used them for our wedding on July 6th and it was flawless. The bar stayed open for an afterparty until about 2-2:30ish and our guests were able to wander around Morristown during the day before the wedding. Everything is in walking distance and they made all the arrangements for shuttles to and from the Park Savoy.

The rooms were awesome and really reasonably priced. I worked directly with Christine, who was so quick to answer any calls and emails throughout the whole process. I highly recommend going with the Hyatt!

I live in Morristown and agree with PPs about the Hyatt.  My H has used them for different social functions; they are very responsive and there is a ton to do within walking distance.  Good luck!

I've stayed at both the Westin and the Marriot and the Westin is much nicer, IMO. A little farther, but the bar there is lovely and the beds are great. I haven't been to the Hyatt so I can't comment. However, I'd also check Hamilton Park. A smidge closer than Morristown and a perfectly fine hotel.
  • I had my room block at the Hyatt in Morristown. It was amazing! The rates included shuttle service, so I didn't have to make arrangements for my guests and its contracted not creepy hotel shuttles. And @vnmazzola is right one of the best parts about the hotel was that everyone could walk to the bars downtown. The girl I worked with was Christine, I think she's still there incase you were interested! Good Luck & Congrats!!

We used the Hanover Marriott and LOVED it.  Not sure what the power lines have to do with it, it's not like you are looking outside while you're there.  You don't really need a separate room for the after party, ours was in the Irish pub and the lobby, plenty of room (and we even ordered takeout at about 1 a.m., LOL.)

I don't know if she's still there but the woman I worked with was Cheryl Costea and she was always very responsive.  Maybe she's on vacation?  Anyway just wanted to chime in with a good HM story.  Good luck!

  • Hi

I got married at the Park Savoy on April 14 and had an amazing wedding there!!! I would HIGHLY recommend the Hanover Marriott!  They were SO WONDERFUL to me and my guests. I got ready there with my bridesmaids and they gave me the most gorgeous suite!  They catered to our evey need!  The shuttle service was excellent!  The hotel is so beautiful that we have great shots.  For example my husband and his groomsmen at the Irish Pub!!  When my husband and I returned to our room the night of our wedding, we found a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.  We did breakfast for our guests and it was aslo excellent.  The guests that stayed all said it was one of the best hotels they ever stayed.  The Hanover Marriot added to my perfect day!
