Mailing invites question

So, I'm the only Oct. 13 bride on the board, which means I generally piggy-back on the Oct. 12 brides' schedule.

We finally ordered our invites last week -- yay! I can't wait to get them.

Our RSVP date is Sept. 25, because we have to give final numbers to our caterer by Oct. 7, so that gives us a cushion to call people and track down lost or late RSVPs.

When should we mail them out? I know the time line is six to eight weeks, but is that in advance of the RSVP date or the wedding? I was thinking we'd mail them Aug. 13; two months before the wedding and about six weeks before the RSVP date.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

    Agreed, two months is perfect timing. We are doing the same. We're Oct. 5 with an RSVP date of Sept. 9. Gives them plenty of time to respond. The one going to Canada might go a week earllier. Still debating.

    I'm going a bit earlier, but for no real reason. Sending ours out this weekend for an October 12th wedding. Honestly, I just want them out of the house.

    TK checklist says 3 months - I agree that is early, so this is just under 3 months.

    The dates for some of the items on TK's check list is a off.  One of them is when to send out the invites.
    That's fine with me - still going to send them this Friday, and I know that is semi-early.

    We mailed ours already (Oct 5th wedding) and we already have some rsvps back. I think any time in the next month is fine. :)

    we are october 12th as well and we are sending ours out this weekend which will be the 20th. our reply date is by september 12th which gives a month. i think its perfect.
