shower venues

My mom and sister are planning my shower, and both live out of state.  They’ve asked me to come up with a list of possible shower venues.  They would like to do a brunch, and are expecting about 25-30 people.  It can be BYOB, and they would like to keep it under $30/pp.

Anywhere in Essex, Morris, or Sussex counties area would be great, but they are open to suggestions.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • My mom and sister hosted mine at the Whistling Swan Inn in Stanhope.  It was a really lovely place, and the food was great.

Try the Mt. Arlington Elks Lodge on Howard Blvd.  They have very reasonable prices & the space is actually cute.  They have an outside area if you like that better.  I had my shower there.

There's a diner on Route 46 in Rockaway that has an upstairs room which is inexpensive.

The Adam Todd on Route 206 in Andover used to have a good brunch.

  • We hosted my sisters bridal shower in Cafe Metro in Denville. We hosted her baby shower at Naunas Bella Casa in Montclair. They both were wonderful and worth checking out.
  • My mom and sister hosted mine at the Hilton at Short Hills. I don't know how much it was pp, but they did an afternoon tea and it was wonderful!  The food (small sandwiches and desserts) and service were both great.  There were about 20 people and we had a private room.  They also wanted to make it somewhat of a bachelorette party, so they reserved a room at the hotel for me and my BMs... we had a slumber party and went for spa appointments the next morning.

  • Thank you for all of the suggestions!  I'll pass them along to my sister.
