We had good progress this weekend!

- found a possible hair piece

- found an outfit for FI for epics (now it's my turn!)

- addressed all of our invite envelopes

- finalized/confirmed hotel room blocks

- picked our vows/blessing for the ceremony

Now I need to finish the website before the end of the month so when our invites go out people actually have something to look at, and we need to stuff the invites, pick music, etc. etc. Still alot to do, but I feel good with what is done!

Wedding night hotel room booked
Invitations addressed and in the mail
Donation cards are ordered
Rough draft of programs are done, just need to get them proof read

This coming weekend will be the bit weekend. Hair trial, final dress fitting, and bridal shower.

We had a good weekend too. On Saturday we met with the venue and went over EVERYTHING. So I am glad that is taken care of. Then on Sunday we had our shower! It was fun. I don't like to be the center of attention but I think I did ok. Here is a pic of my wedding shower favors! I loved them!

We got our invites in the mail today, so I will be working on those and hopefully having them out by the end of the month! I am a tad jealous hearing about honeymoon plans, we will be taking one but not until February (being from Chicago we didn't realize that a Caribbean cruise in October would be during hurricane season, so we decided to wait just to be safe, lol).

Woot everyone is making big leaps! Over the weekend I did a few things: Finished the time capsule guest book tile (directions) Finished the pick a seat not a side tile Finished all the bm and mothers drinking cups for gifts Composed and printed programs, just need to cut them

We also booked our wedding night hotel over the weekend and we changed our hotel for the honeymoon. We found one in the Barbados that is amazing and is not much more then the one we originally booked. I guess it is a newer hotel so that is why we didn't see it a few months ago. I love it! I also stuffed and stamped about half of my invitations and will be getting these out in the mail soon. I still have to get all the addresses from everyone at work that I am inviting since I don't want to hand them out personally. I can't invite everyone so I don't want some people to feel bad about not being invited.

I have my first dress fitting this evening! I worked a little more on the programs, but I'm not terribly sure what I want the wording to be, so I'm still playing around with it. That will be an after-we-get-RSVPs printing, though. I have enough vases for 3 of the big tables, I need to paint them this weekend. I also need to double check with the bakery on when the final count is due to them - although I imagine it's somewhere in their contract... 102 days, eek!

This weekend was pretty productive, but not very productive.

I had my first dress fitting, and the dress itself does not need alterations, but they will set up a 3 point bustle. That's pretty cool.

And I think that's it! FI's mom needed one more invite to the shower, so I quickly helped her put that together. My sister originally created the invites, but we had some materials leftover.

We were also missing some addresses, and I got 2 more (still missing 2 though.) Invites are going out soon and they are all ready.

ETA: Send 2nd payment to event painter! Need to send 2nd payment to photobooth as well this week.

Hmm...I ordered matchbooks for the cigar table. I have ALMOST finalized my guest list in the sense of ("and Guest" or SO's name). Almost have the ceremony completely written. Asked my mom if she would accompany my dad and I down the aisle - she was SUPER excited.

Things to do this week:

Address envelopes

Send menu options to venue

Follow up with the DJ - because I BELIEVE I need to have songs into him sometime soon...

Schedule dress fittings

Then in real life...

I'm starting the new car search

Getting ready to head to Florida on Friday to visit one of my bridesmaids - WOO HOO!

-Set up makeup trial for September 8th

-Ordered books of engagement photos and pre engagement photos for the reception

-Our memory box got shipped yesterday (see post I will make with pictures!)

-Emailed the park manager to run some things by him (waiting for a response)

-Meeting my florist the day of the makeup trial to pay her

-Made a calendar of important dates (when to get marriage license etc), when payments are due etc to have everything in one place

-Got the chair rental switched over to chiavari chairs since we changed the location of the ceremony

-Got some decorations for the ceremony

-FI designed our programs (just need to take them to Kinko's)

80 days (at 4:00)!!

Sounds like lots of progress. I feel pretty accomplished too this weekend after being laid up with a sprained back muscle the last 1.5 weeks.

- Tried on my dress with my mom present, decided on shoes and style of veil.
-Ordered Maid of Honors dress (my only attendant)
- I think my mom got her dress picked out too
- Mailed DJ deposit
- Made a recon trip to Smart & Final to price cups, beverages and dessert paper products.
- Made contact with the Judge that is doing our ceremony

We will be swamped with planning the next few weekends. Definitely need to nail down our caterer (taco cart or BBQ) soon!

Lemmie see, this weekend I:
Picked up my dress. My 'other mother' (my BFF/MOH's mom), who had already booked a safari in Africa, so won't be able to make the wedding, wanted to see me in it, so they drove to the salon to surprise me that morning. It was SO wonderful of them to drive about 30 miles JUST for that.

It needs to be taken in at the bodice, hemmed up some, and bustled. And CERTAINLY steamed. There's this odd thread on the front of the bodice that I -think- just needs to be cut, but until a professional looks at it, it's staying there. My mom's going to call around to some seamstresses to see what they might charge me.

I also picked up some 'hot press' pearls and rhinestones to attempt to affix to my veil. Not gonna work. Current thought is run a thin ribbon around the edge and affix pearls/rhinestones to that.

Also wore my shoes around to stretch out the leather just a pinch. They are MUCH more comfortable now!

I also tried on the petticoat my mom's made. She's just got to finalize finishing off sewing in the elastic waistband, roll the bottom hem, and add the purple lace, and that's done.

To be honest, I spent most of Saturday helping my mom sew a ghawazee for my bellydance performance this upcoming Saturday.

FI contacted an officiant today (I'm just swamped with work, so don't have time), so we'll see how that goes.

Is it October yet? I'm almost ready just to be DONE.
