Beach Wedding Processional Song (24 y/o)

Hey everyone!

I am getting married in Jamaica in February 2014 and am having the hardest time coming up with a processional and recessional song. I want something non-traditional with a "beachy" or fun type feel. I am also 24 years old so don't want anything "oldies".

Please help me with some ideas - my brain is wracked!

Thanks! :)

Re: Beach Wedding Processional Song (24 y/o)

  • I did traditional wedding songs for the processional, but I really wanted a different song :-\.

We didn't really have a recessional, but we played Bruno Mars "Marry You" after we kissed!

I don't think those suggestions are necessarily beachy though, lol!

Where in Jamaica are you getting married?  I was a Sandals Negril bride!

  • You and Me by DMB? I mean, it would have to cut in at the chorus, but that's pretty powerful...

I don't know your musical taste, but if you like The Civil Wars, "I've got this friend," would be nice and light and be achy.
  • I used "Better together" by Jack Johnson. I found a tropical version on iTunes

  • I used "blessed" by Christina Aguilera. We walked out to Lovely Day by Bill whithers - but that's an oldie

  • We did I'm Yours by Jason Mraz - but we had a orchestra trio playing it. The original sounds kind of beachy though :)
  • I am with robin we used a live version of jack Johnson better together right after we kissed and I was sooo pleased with that!

  • We have not yet decided on music either.  But we want to use Swing life Away for Rise against..

  • I walked in to Somewhere Over the Rainbow/I'm Yours by Straight No Chaser.  For the recessional, we used the London Philharmonic's Super Mario Brothers.
