Wedding shoes for beach ceremony

I've seen lots of beach weddings where the bride either goes barefoot or wears flat sandals/flip-flops. But I need the height. I am a small Asian bride and my fiance is German. When I'm not wearing heels, my head comes up to beneath his chest. So I try to wear heels most of the time when I'm around him - it's easier when posing for photos and stealing a kiss.

So, I'm considering wearing wedge shoes for my beach ceremony. But I'm still not sure how safe (from tripping/sinking) I would be when I walk down a sandy aisle. Has anyone ever tried wearing wedge shoes at a beach?

  • I know it has been a while since you have posted this, but I experimented with wedge heels on the beach. I am not graceful at all but very short, so I too need some height.

We are having the beach swept and also having them put a runner down. I was able to walk on the regular beach sand in the wedges, and it was even easier to walk on the swept sand. I almost feel like if I can do it, anyone can. Haha, good luck!
