Ha! I just got back from my Honeymoon (Portugal) three days ago and I'm already saying I need a vacation!!!

I'm absolutely a beach/island girl. My DH is a mixed bag- beach and culture. So, we usually try to balance our vacations and do some tropical stuff and some European trips. Some of my favorites are French Polynesia, the Seychelles, and Lizard Island Australia. In fact, Lizard Island inspired this post. I have one of our HM pics on my computer desktop and it caused me to daydream

Oh me!!!
Usually summer time is slow, but business is rocking this season. Don't get me wrong... That's a good thing, but I would kill for a vacation right about now.
The beach is only 5mins away and I've only gotten to go onceso far.

Huh. I feel like you've had a couple vacays this year already.

Though you can never have enough, right?? I definitely need one. We usually go away on 2 "bigger" trips a year, but haven't been anywhere since the honeymoon in FP last November. We're overdue, thanks to buying a house. We do have one trip booked......we are anxiously looking forward to our European river cruise to see the Christmas Markets in December.

The Xmas Market Cruise is what we planned on doing this Dec!! Of course, we then bought a new home and now we don't know what we're going to do. We may still go to Europe, but only to one place, or we may stay in the US. My DH is super eager to get started on our backyard and since he it a DIY guy, I imagine most of our free time for the rest of the year will be spent on that (after it cools down here!)

Def let me know how the trip goes! My DH will be so jealous

I haven't even been home from the beach for a full week yet and I already think I need another vacation. LOL Once you get back it's like you never even went because you jump right back into every day life.

Me too! We are going to Ohio for a wedding in three weeks and that will probably be it until the honeymoon. Unfortunately we will probably skip out on the bahamas this coming march, at least I will be out of work for a four day weekend to get to ohio.

I've always thought you need a vacation to recover from vacation! I'm keeping my fingers crossed because something came up today and *might* get to go back to Tahiti again in December!!!! I don't see how I'm going to make it until then, though.

I normally do a 2-week vacation evety year (typically to Europe - though last year i did 2 weeks in Europe and also one in Hawaii). This year we had intended to do a week in Costa Rica and a week in Jackson Hole, and then we got engaged last Christmas. So we decided that we should save what we would have spent this year and put it toward our honeymoon next year (South Africa).

This is killing me because i love to travel so much! We did rent a house on the NJ shore for a week with FI's family, but as i grew up on the NJ shore, i had a hard time considering this a "real" vacation! Fortunately for me, one of my BMs decided to get married this December in St. Lucia, so now i HAVE to travel! We're only doing 4 nights there, but it's better than nothing, right? :-)

Same here! Spent 1.5 weeks in Jersey at the beach, but since my entire family is still there, it really wasn't remotely close to vacation.

I was reading my earlier post. We still have not decided on what to do this year. We both agreed we need to do something, but we both know we can only do something for 4 days tops. We're trying to save as much vacation as possible for our trip to New Zealand next year. I'm so excited about it! We're staying with a friend in Christchurch, but I've already started planning our North Island adventure and trying to figure out if we want a stop over. I need to figure that out FAST as I'm using my miles to book DH's ticket and biz class FF tix sell out quick, so as soon as the air is available, I need to snag it!
