Ok, so some background. I'm a geologist and our wedding colors are Purple and Green. We have amethyst crystal spears that will be coming out of the cake and the guest favors are purple and green rock candy. I came up with the idea to have table names of purple and green gemstones/minerals.
I was careful to choose minerals that most people could pronounce. My mom suggested that since most people won't understand the concept of the table names (For example, how would anybody know that Zoisite, Malachite, and Lepidolite are purple and green minerals?), that I should instead change them to well-known gemstones like Diamond, Ruby, Pearl, etc. I understand this, but I'm a bit bothered by it, because I feel like it loses its continuity. What's the point of naming the tables just gemstones? The point was that they were Purple and Green gemstones...
So FI suggested that I keep my original table names, but add a little fun fact sheet about each one. It would allow people to understand the concept, and it might even be a conversation starter. Excellent idea. Except, that's kind of a lot of work. Is it worth it? Do you think I should do this? Or just scrap the table name idea all together?
