Wedding band metal?

My fiance gave me a beautiful engagement ring that is mainly white gold with some yellow gold as well.  It has been in his family for a few generations and I love it very much.  At first, we thought we should go with white and yellow gold wedding bands so that they match, but after visiting a few jewelers I was disappointing at the thickness of the two-toned bands.  I am looking for something 2-3 mm so that it does not overpower my delicate engagement ring.  So, I was thinking of just going with a simple, thinner white gold band for myself, and my FI either just white gold or white with black tungsten (I think that's what it is :S) because he likes those rings.  Now, would a white gold wedding band with a white and yellow engagement ring look odd?

  • I don't think it would look odd. A wedding band is a personal decision - go with what you think looks nice and what you are comfortable with.

  • Not at all!  Since you have both golds in your e-ring then picking one or the other for your wedding band is perfectly fine.  Go with what you like and that you know you will be happy to wear al the time.

  • It should look fine. Have you tried a white gold band next to your ring? Did you like the way it looks? At the end of the day, you will be the one looking at it everyday so you have to be happy.
