  Your mother doesn't have to coordinate with the bridesmaids or wedding colors at all - unless she'd like to.

  Department stores might be a good place to take her in the beginning.

  There is no "rule" that the MOB has to wear any particular color.  If your mother wants to wear turquoise, that's fine; if she wants to wear fuchsia, that's also fine (not artistically but in terms of etiquette).  She gets to choose.
