Who gets gifts?

I'm about 5 months away and looking at bridesmaid gifts.  Besides them, and the groomsmen, who else is it proper to give a gift to?
(Or if this topic is elsewhere, I would settle for a link :-)

I think every situation is different But here is our list:
    Parents
Pastor - He has known DH since he was like 2.
    Bridesmaids
    Groomsmen
    Flower Girl
    Ring Bearer
DOC - my cousin, who did it just because she's fabulous
    All other siblings.
  • I'm getting married in a month and traditionally only gifts are purchased for the wedding party.

We are giving gifts to our Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, flower girl and ring boy. Undecided on the parents yet but that covers it.
  • Usually,
    wedding party
    parents

But most parents really just want a photo album of the day of. You can always ask them..

  • We gave gifts to our wedding party, my mom (this was from me), and my aunt who was a reader in our wedding. I also paid for my grandmom and aunt to have their nails done to say thank you for helping with a few different things during my planning.

  • I think this has come up before, but if you're planning on getting your parents a photo album, what do you get them at the wedding? Just a nice card and explain their future present?

My wedding is in august, so I was thinking that by the time I get my photos back, it might make more sense to just do the albums as Christmas presents.

Yes. But my wedding is in June, photographer guarantees no more than 8 week turn around with more of a 3-4 week. Then I'll let my parents pick their photos they'd like and make them a book out of them :) and of course in the card thank them for everything they have done for me/FI through our lives that molded us to who we are today. His mom is extremely sappy so will love it. I might get a wall photo hanging thing too and give that to them the day of since my parents already have a collage of my brother's wedding photos on the wall.  Then when I get the photos make big prints of their favs for it.

  • Whomever you want to give a gift to.

    We are doing:

    - Bridesmaids (I made them all wreaths out of book pages and sheet music like these:
    Link 1 and Link 2)
    - Groomsmen (I made my friend a custom checkerboard, we got FI's friends their favorite alcohol and a gift card to a restaurant)
    - Flower Girl (I got her a book of Disney Wedding Princesses that has thick cutouts and clothes (like a serious paper doll).
    - Ring Bearer (Got him a Cars "Where's Waldo" type book)
    - Parents (Got my parents a gift card to dinner, Got his mother a bracelet for the wedding, Got his dad this Link 3)

You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.
