YWCA-Alcohol/Beverage Question

My fiance and I have booked the YWCA for our wedding and reception but was wondering if anyone on here has had there reception here or been to one?
We can bring in our own alcohol, we just have to have a TABC certified bartender to handle the drinks. How do you keep all of the bottles of wine and beer cold? Do they let you set up coolers with ice and the bartender just pours the beer/wine into cups? I just feel like the coolers would look tacky. Or do we just store everything in the fridge and the bartender just goes back and forth? Just curious on how other brides have done this!
Thanks for any input!

I think your best bet would be to invest in some metal buckets that you can fill with ice.

Edit: Also, won't the bartender have some kind of stand behind which coolers could be hidden?  Now that I think about it, you wouldn't be able to have the alcohol out in buckets because it would be too easily accessible by your guests.

  • The bartenders we hired at the Filter Building brought all of their own equipment to serve the alcohol we brought.
  • My first wedding was there in 1999. We had a big metal tub that held ice and beer. We had to have a large tarp underneath it in case it leaked in any way. This is a beautiful facility and you will have a wonderful time. Best wishes to you and your fiancé:)
  • Thanks guys! I'll send an e-mail to the YWCA and see how other brides have done it as well.
