Royal Manor would you be worried?

We booked the Royal Manor for our Oct 2013 wedding.   The reviews online were great and the guy I worked with was wonderful. Recently (the last month or so) there have been 3 reviews on yelp that were terrible. I'm a little worried now. Would you be? thanks!

  • There are always going to be bad reviews about venues.  You should take them with a grain of salt.  But if there is any particular item that truly stands out to you, bring it up with the guy you worked with to see if there is any explanation.

  • My co-worker got married there last August and she GUSHES about how fabulous her wedding was. I wouldn't be too worried.

The place that I'm getting married at has not so hot reviews but I feel confident in our decision that it's the best place for us to get married at.

Did the reviews mention anything specific?  My venue had a few not-so-good reviews too (they all do) and I mentioned them to our event coordinator, right up until the day of our wedding.  We made our expectations crystal clear and that anything less would be unacceptable.  If it would make you feel better, why don't you call your banquet manager?  I am sure you won't be the first bride to ask. They could be going through a management change or something temporary. GL!

  • I think people are more inclined to post negative reviews about a place, rather than a good experience. You have a good time, you can't wait to go back- but don't really think to write a review, simply just mention it to friends and gush about how great your experience was.

I would definitely bring it up to the banquet manager and anyone you are going to be working with the day of. I think they will go above and beyond just to make a great impression and hope that you might even post great things about their venue.

  • I have my wedding booked for Oct 2014, so please let me know how your wedding goes. I want to do a taste testing soon so Doug is allowing me to come before a wedding to taste the food. I am still nervous but please let me know.

Will do Kidnitz!  We ended up moving to Las Vegas and will not have a food tasting. But we did go to a party they had in January where we were able to taste the food and loved everything.
