Daytime Wedding - thoughts?

After about 2 weeks of researching venues and crunching numbers it was suggested to me that I do either a daytime Saturday or Sunday jazz brunch for my wedding to keep things in budget and still include all the elements I am looking for.

Has anyone had a daytime wedding in New Orleans? Any great venues? I have about 100 guests and want a location that has a very New Orleans feel.

Thanks!

Re: Daytime Wedding - thoughts?

  • We're doing a daytime wedding (ceremony starts at 10:15 a.m.) and personally I'm glad that I'll be able to get up, get everything over with, and have some time to catch my second wind before we get up at 4 a.m. the next morning to make a 6 a.m. flight to Miami.  I have a friend who had an evening wedding and then they went out with people afterwards until like 3 or 4 a.m. when they were leaving at 7 a.m.  Crazy!

The downside of the ceremony starting so early thoiugh, is that there won't be much time for everyone to get ready and makeup counters and salons won't be open yet so I would have been limited to hiring stylists to come to my location if I wasn't okay with DIY.  If your ceremony isn't starting until early afternoon (1 or 2 p.m.) you would have more options.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

I agree with PP, Brennan's has amazing brunch. I would steer away from Court of Two Sisters, it IS beautiful but you can do so much  better on the food.

I would love to go to a brunch wedding, we should have considered it ourselves!
