After Dinner Ideas

Hey!

Just joined the site and am looking for some ideas for what to do after the ceremony.

We will be having a reception at home so I'm not looking to do anything too major (no first dance, toasts etc). After the ceremony we're having a dinner but I'm struggling to decide what to do after that. I'd like to beable to take some great pictures and have some drinks etc without having to go to a club. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Welcome! A double decker bus tour is very popular. You can find tons of amazing info at vegasgroom.com!

We're doing a strip tour from 5:30-8 on 29 seat bus and bringing a photographer and taking photos around the strip and the las Vegas sign :)

Valeri what company are you using, price quote? What about price for the DDB. I'm sure it can change and fluctuate i was just curious when comparing a party bus vs double decker

We are struggling with the same issue... some of the ideas that are going around in my head are:

Going to a restaurant then club afterwards
Restaurant then Piano Bar at New York, New York
Restaurant then Indigo Bar at Ballys (I heard they have great live music and dancing)

Any opinions on above or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I have only been to Vegas once before and because we live in New Zealand a trip to scout out other places is off the cards.

I am looking at the Piano Bar at Harrah's. They do the dueling pianos, requests, etc. I have read that it's lots of fun and people sing, dance and have a good time. I can get seating and a waitress with open bar for my guests for 2 hours for $50 a head. We'll also have wrist bands so we can just go to the bar and get a drink.

My favorite place lately has been the Bourbon Room at Venetian!  If you like 80's music it's a lot of fun.  They have an MC and play all the old videos for the songs.  I'm sure a wedding party would get lots of attention and probably some free drinks!

After we get back at 8 from our strip tour we will go back to our suite, probably without pur guests and then whoever wants to can meet us at a club. Either Hakkasan at MGM, light at Mandalay Bay, or surrenender at Encore we will probably meet up about 10-1030

The Bourbon Room is my new favorite place, too!  We had so much fun there in April.  They place 80s and 90s music, and people dance, but it's not a "club" really.  No cover (at least when we were there, and it was a Friday night).  We had so much fun there!  I'm taking all my friends back there during my wedding weekend!

Also, someone above recommended Indigo at Bally's.  I had a lot of fun there too.  When we went, there was a live band and dancing, but also people sitting around at cocktail tables, etc.  However, you will want to make sure they don't have an "act" there - - I heard that Taylor Hicks of American Idol fame started a show there in June.  Not sure how long it is running, but I am assuming it is something you need tickets for to get in.  Such a shame, because lounges with live music and no cover are a dying breed in Vegas (I'm still mourning the loss of the Fontana Lounge at the Bellagio.... that one still hurts.)

Love the idea of the bus tour! We will probably do that and then come back to Mandalay Bay (where we are staying and also having dinner that night).

I've been to the paino bar at NYNY, a bit small but tons of fun!

We're using bell trans. A lot of knoties use them. Lots of reviews. We plan on getting picked up and taking photos at the fountains at bellagio and the Eiffel tower at Paris. And then the las Vegas sign I'm excited about it! :)

I'll have to look into them, thanks! Sounds like fun! I'm getting pictures at the sign as well as part of my ceremony package :)

OMG I LOVE 80s dance music! Do you think they would be open to a bachelorette party there? I'd much prefer 80s sing-a-longs to sweaty club scenes ...

Whereabouts is the bourbon room in the Venetian? I'm just back a week and was planning to go here but I didn't see it and I'm curious where it is! I didn't go looking for it but I was in the Venetian a few times and just didn't see it!

Ummm totally open to it!  They are always trying to get the ladies on stage to dance.  The MC is awesome too.  We are planning to have the guys and gals meet up there after our bachelor/bachelorette nights.

The Bourbon Room is located near Grand Lux...if you walk in off the street level into the casino and off to the left.

Ok so my makeshift plan for after the ceremony is dinner at Lupo in Mandalay Bay, bus tour (most likely DDB) and then back to Mandalay Bay to celebrate at Ri Ra.
My fiancé and are a big fan of pubs so we thought that would be more appropriate (and enjoyable for us) than going to a club after.
Thoughts? Would love to hear any reviews of Ri Ra.

I think it would be a very fun place for a bachelorette group.  It wasn't huge club, but more like a lounge.  But people were dancing when we were there.  I had a blast.  They have 1980s cocktails for sale too (like Bartles & James wine coolers - - I didn't know that they still made those!)  If you like 80s music, you'll love this place.

When was there over Fourth of July weekend, I saw a woman take a few swigs of her wine cooler, dump a shot of vodka in to it, and down the entire thing. I love this place.
