Wedding Invites - RSVP

Since we are older (39 & 42) we are having several events over 3 days - welcome dinner, golf outing, spa outing, wedding, plated reception, and farewell brunch. The RSVP card for the wedding is scheduled to have the meals only.  There is a weekend events card however we want people to RSVP for those events on the website. After receiving the proofs I am concerned that people will get confused about where to RSVP.  Any thoughts?

Re: Wedding Invites - RSVP

  • I think it would be easiest to RSVP for all events on one card. Or all events on one website.

I do think you'll have some people confused either way so be prepared for phone calls or emails :)
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton

Serious question- what does being older have to do with having several events?
I got stuck on this as well. I was 38 when I got married and didn't feel I had to include several events.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I would have an RSVP card that looks like this:

    ATTENDING                                                                NOT ATTENDING
    ___Welcome Dinner   ____Welcome Dinner
    ___Golf   ____Golf
    ___Spa                                                                       ____Spa
___Ceremony & Reception                                           ____Ceremony & Reception

Also, make sure that you understand that for all the activities you plan, and are inviting people to that you will foot the bill. That would include any and all refreshments during Golf / Spa.

Maybe one for the ceremony & reception and one for everything else? Where are they getting details about these other events?
  • We created our invites and were about to send them out when FFIL was like WAIT YOU HAVE TO DO A WELCOME RECEPTION so I quickly printed out an insert, but obviously our RSVP card did not have any mention of this event. Getting people to RSVP separately was a HUUUUGE PITA. I advise against it.

  • @KnotPorscha, spammer.

So where exactly is country Erbil Hey Armenia?

  • Shoot, we're older than that. I just planned the two events, one with the judge who's marrying us to each other, and the other where we eat and drink and dance. And even that sounds kind of exhausting. I'm not sure we'd last through three days of events. :)

Seriously, sounds fun, but I echo what PP have said. I'd try one response card for everything, but I assume you will be paying for all events, in that case.
