Tea Party Bridal Shower Locations

Hi Ladies,

Does anyone know of locations in the Farmington/ Hartford/Middletown area where they have a tea party as an option for a shower??

Thanks for all your help

Re: Tea Party Bridal Shower Locations

  • When my cousin got married a few years ago, we went into Old Wethersfield for a Tea brunch at Mainly Tea - but sadly they are closed now. It was very English and quaint.

On the other spectrum there is Tisane's in Hartford (on the West Hartford line) that has a ridiculous tea selection and has a kitchen. I'm not sure what they do in terms of renting the place out. The way it is set up though you walk in and the counter is in front of you, to the left is the front of the restaurant with tables and the bar, and to the right is a more private, although no way to section or close it off, area. Perhaps worth a try? That's all I can really think of, but I'm not a tea drinker!

  • My bridal party had a lot of difficulty finding an appropriate location for a tea party shower in the Hartford area, but I do recall that my MOH had looked into Sweet Harmony Bakery and Café in Middletown.  Middletown ended up being too far for most of the guests to travel, but we heard great things about them!  I would definitely check them out!

My bridal party ended up hosting a lovely tea party shower at my mom's house.  Loved it!

  • Thanks for the advice. I am very familiar with Sweet Harmony but they changed locations to Main St, Middletown in the old Javapalooza. It is still wonderful but the atmosphere is completely different than when it was in that Victorian home.

I was thinking the Farmington Gardens green house, but they do not let you book until four months in advance. The Pond House may also be an option, but I was very unhappy with the staff when my FI and I toured it for a potential venue. Plus I have heard the food is not very good.

  • I second the no to Pond House, they never even replies to two contacts I made to tour as a potential venue!

  • All the Pond House cared about was $$$$. Diana the staff member we met with was terrible. When we asked about the grounds she stated that she "didn't know" and "didn't go into the park". She also kept trying to discourage us from having a spring wedding because that was their peak season and they "don't like to loose money by having a have small wedding". And she was VERY touchy feely with my FI. I am still so annoyed that I don't want them getting and $$$ for my shower LOL
  • I'm having my wedding at Farmington Gardens and when we went to pay our deposit there was a tea party bridal shower going on in the greenhouse. Very beautiful!
  • Thanks I just wish we could book it there today instead of waiting
