two dress or one?

i'm contemplating on buying two dress one for a beach flowing wedding and one for my speakeasy themed receptions my total budget is 2k and its getting difficult to find my two dresses.

Either they don't have the dress i was looking at or when i put it on it makes me look like a flower girl [height: 5'1 AND weight: 98lbs].

I say find one dress and get it altered to fit you instead of buying two. But thats just how I would do it.

How I see it is, you only get to wear your wedding dress once. I would rather wear one dress for as long as possible then ditch it after the ceremony. That's just my personal opinion, but given your budget, I'd go with one wow dress instead of two different dresses. I also think there is a dress that works for both venues. 1920s flappers and beach both have relaxed looks.

I would wait to get a dress until you have a venue.

I don't think it is necessary to have a venue before you get your dress, but having a solid idea for theme, level of formality, time of year, etc is very important. The dress can help decide the venue or vice versa. But I can say that I did run into some problems here. I purchased a very classic dress with an outdoor wedding in mind, only to have my mom worry about having a nice dress in nature. We ended up with a venue that met her levels of cleanliness but it came at a much higher price tag than my simple, outdoor venue was.
