Hostess Gifts for Shower

Hi, I saw on another board I follow, October 2013, people mentioning about giving hostess gifts for the people throwing their shower. I actually haven't heard of this and wanted to check with other brides in the NJ area to see their feelings. My bridal shower is being hosted by my Mother and bridesmaids. I've read mixed things online about the proper etiquette. I've asked a few other friends and they haven't heard of it either. Any help greatly appreciated.

    I am not doing this either. I thought about it, but wrote nice thank you notes and will give them a gift at the rehearsal dinner for all of their help throughout the planning process. (And I'm on the October 2013 board as well :)  )

    Thank you for your feedback. The more I think about it, the more I think a thoughtful thank you note is sufficient for the shower. And of course a thank you gift at the shower. Thanks SewInLoveWithDMB. I wanted to get some feedback from brides in our area and not just from the brides on the October 2013. Hope your planning is going well.
