RSVP Comments

So I'm kind of curious....for those of you who have sent out your invites have you been getting comments on the RSVP cards?  I find it kind of humorous that my FI's family feels that they need to write something when they send it.  Some of the comments are very sweet. One of his cousins wrote in a long explanation of why they wouldn't be attending.  I hadn't planned on keeping the cards but now I'm thinking I should.

Re: RSVP Comments

  • So far only 1 RSVP came back with a note on it from a guy I work with.  He cannot make it and underneath it he put Please don't kill me lol.  I thought it was pretty funny but other then that, no comments yet!

We have gotten a lot of our cards back with things written on them. Anywhere from "We can't wait" to reasons why they can't make it.

We even had one guy put this. (See pic)

He is a spunky 79 year old man that we love dearly.

Thanks Alison, we searched and searched, ordered about a dozen sample styles from about 5 different sites and low and behold, we found "the one" on davids bridal site. I have attached a copy of our invite suite for your viewing pleasure. :)

@rustytammy...I hope when I am that old that I have the same sense of humor that he does. To top it off, he has a very thick Boston accent...
  • Apparently not only is my boss an attorney, but he's also a comedian...That would be from my boss. He's so lucky he handed it to me instead of mailing it. Others that cant make it put words like Best Wishes or stuff along those lines.

  • Lots of ours have had written comments as well - either saying they can't make it or just that they are looking forward to it. Nothing really "funny" - but I generally just write our names and send it back. I was a bit surprised to see messages.

I always planned on keeping ours however.

  • @SewInLoveWithDMB I plan on adding that one to my scrapbook.

  • No comments for us at all yet.  We have 12 of the 55 we sent out.  @rhawndas - that RSVP takes the cake - I love it!
    S'mores. Just S'mores please.
  • We have had almost everyone make comments-not something I was expecting at all but that we are enjoying. Things from "can't wait to celebrate" and the like, and even one with a drawing (from FI's brother/BM). It's been fun to see what people say and to see how excited people are to celebrate with us.

I wasn't sure if we were going to save the response cards but now we will for sure.

  • I love writing comments on RSVP cards, so I can't wait to see what comes back. We have already been asked by a couple of folks if they could just tell us they were coming, because they wanted to keep the card (we designed a vintage DC postcard).
  • We have got back lots of comments on our reply cards. From people who couldn't wait to celebrate with us but my favorite was from my boss.  I was blowing off some steam to him about another reply card that I got back from my FI's Aunt that included his cousin that wasn't invited. So on his reply card he sent back he added on 15 people, like his kids and people who we both know but I wasn't able to invite to the wedding LOL and in the area where it asks about food options he said he would just make an executive decision for all those that he replied for.  I am definitely keeping his reply card to put in my scrap book it was awesome and really helped give me a laugh!
