Vista Suites Sold Out!!!

Hi Everyone,

My wedding was originally planned for April 2013, however we just bought a house so I moved the date to April 4, 2014. I was so consumed with the home buying process that my wedding planning slowed down. I have booked the wedding date at Mandalay Bay, booked the photographer and hair/make up. My plan was to have an in suite reception in the Vista Suite however I found out today from the wedding coordinator that the Vista is not available on my wedding date. Now what??? Should I try to book directly through the hotel? Is there another room comparable? There will only be about 25 guest. I heard of the H Suite does anyone have any reviews or pics of the H suite????

Re: Vista Suites Sold Out!!!

  • The H suite is basically an L suite (which is a secret room they don't list on their website for some reason) without the office.  I have pics of the L suite at http://www.vegasgroom.com/vgblog/2011/06/thehotel/

The L suite would easily accommodate slightly more than a Vista and the office makes for a great place for vendors to do food service from because it's open on two sides.  H would work just fine too, just not quite as convenient, but otherwise equivalent to a Vista.

  • Have you tried looking into the platinum hotel?

  • I think she wants to stay there because she's already booked at Mandalay for ceremony.  Unfortunately I don't think MB offers refunds on the deposit.

Yes, I am already booked at MB, and I do not want to lose my deposit.
  • The H Suite is not as convenient????? Does the L suite have a bar area like the Vista? And what about the views????
  • Yes, the H (and Vista) is not as convenient from a service perspective compared to the L.  The L has an office, the other two do not.  The office makes a perfect place to serve food from, the other two will need to be set up at the bar, where drinks are also coming from, or just at some random place in the room.

The H, L and Vista all have a bar.

The views are the same from all three; there are good ones facing the strip and bad ones facing the parking garage/mountains.

  • Have u thought about the luxor. I stayed there once and we got an awesome suite that would easily accommodate 25. It had a wet bar and two couches that were supper comfy. I think a dining table as well. Just a thought
  • What about some of the suites at MGM?  Still close to MB and they would have a bar and views.
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

Do you have any pics?  I've never stayed in a room at Luxor that didn't feel run down.

  • We had 30 guests and booked the Media Suite.  It ended up being great for what we needed.  There is not an area to have a dance floor, but we still had our first dance.  We didn't have a dj and our reception was pretty non-traditional.  We cut the cake, made toasts and then just partied it up.  For us, it was perfect!!  But, you may want to look and see if it would fit your needs and wants.  Let me know if you have any questions!
